Back
Porch Swing plays a blend of swing, traditional,
and original songs and tunes. Voices in tight harmony
are complimented by the fiddling of Josie Solseng, the fine mandolin picking of Neal
Woodall, the versatile guitar of Greg Starling and the
bass and whistles of Riley McLaughlin.
The band has performed around the northwest since 1991 and has played at festivals including Northwest Folklife, the Tumbleweed Music Festivaland the Juan De Fuca Festival and had played at many other venues. One of our founding fiddlers has just retired from the band and we will soon be updating our website with new photos, bios and music. Please check our upcoming performances and then come back soon to visit the new site.
Back Porch Swing has released
three CDs – Snapshot, Running for the Ferry and Amaryllis
Café.

As good as they are at performing swing music from the thirties and forties, and as much fun as they have with novelty songs like I Want to be a Cowgirl, they
equal that level in the tunes the band members write in the Celtic vein....Olympia
is a better place due to the presence of Back Porch Swing.
